It is a time-honored practice of meeting with someone to process life with God and reflect on how God may be working in your prayer and circumstances. At Ora & Render Soul Care, spiritual direction modeled as a commitment over several months or a year, meeting for about an hour every 3-5 weeks.
A spiritual director walks with you as a listening companion, helping you bring your life honestly before God.
Sessions include attentive conversation, silence, and gentle questions that help you notice what God may be inviting.
Rather than advice, spiritual direction helps you become more aware of God’s presence and guidance.

If you are reaching out to explore SD with us, we always to take before our first meeting to pray for a week to discern if this is a good fit for both of us at this time. We re-evaluate the relationship in the same way each year for longer-term relationships.

Spiritual direction is not meant to fix, diagnose, manage, or rush the soul. It is not counseling, coaching, consulting, or a teaching session.
Instead, it offers a prayerful space to listen with God, notice His movement, and respond to His invitation with honesty and trust.
Spiritual direction does not diagnose or treat mental health concerns.
It is not primarily goal-setting, strategy, or performance improvement.
The director does not tell you what decision to make.
Scripture may be present, but the session is not a lecture or class.
